Terms of Service
Last updated 18 August 2026
These terms are a contract between you and Cog Code ("we", "us"), a UK business operating ShelfKeepr. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use ShelfKeepr.
What ShelfKeepr is
ShelfKeepr lets you keep a list of books you own and books you are hunting for, and searches third-party marketplaces on your behalf for copies that match the price and condition you set. When it finds one it shows you the listing and may notify you.
ShelfKeepr is a search and tracking tool. We do not sell books, hold stock, or take part in any purchase. Any transaction you enter into is between you and the seller on the marketplace where the listing lives, under that marketplace's own terms.
Your account
- You need to be at least 16 to hold an account.
- Keep your password and sign-in provider secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- One person, one account. Don't share it, sell it, or create accounts for others.
- Give us a real email address that you control — it is how we verify you and how we notify you.
Acceptable use
Don't:
- use automated tools to scrape, mirror or hammer the service, or attempt to bypass rate limits or account caps;
- attempt to access other users' accounts or data;
- upload or enter anything unlawful, defamatory or that infringes someone else's rights;
- use ShelfKeepr to resell, redistribute or commercially exploit the search results or marketplace data it surfaces;
- interfere with the service, its infrastructure or its providers.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
Free tier and limits
The free tier is limited — for example in how many books you can track at once and how often they are checked. We may change those limits with reasonable notice. Paid tiers, when offered, will have their own terms and pricing shown before you subscribe.
Marketplace results and accuracy
Listings come from third-party marketplaces and are shown as we received them. Prices, availability, condition and descriptions can change or be wrong, and a listing may be gone by the time you look. Matching is best-effort: we may miss a copy, or show one that isn't quite the edition you wanted. Always check the listing itself before you buy. We are not liable for the accuracy of third-party listings or for any purchase you make.
Some links to eBay carry an eBay Partner Network affiliate tag; if you buy through one we may earn a commission at no cost to you. This never affects which listings are shown or how they are ranked.
Intellectual property
ShelfKeepr's code, design and branding are ours. Book titles, cover images, product names and marketplace listings belong to their respective publishers, rights holders and sellers, and are used to identify the items you track. ShelfKeepr is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Games Workshop, Black Library, eBay, or any publisher or marketplace.
Cover images and catalogue metadata are sourced from Open Library and similar bibliographic databases; if you are a rights holder and object to an image being shown, contact us and we will remove it.
Your data
Your hunt list, shelf and collections are yours. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. You can ask us to export or delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected].
Availability and changes
ShelfKeepr is provided "as is". We aim to keep it running but don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and marketplaces may change or restrict the access we depend on. We may add, change or withdraw features, and we may change these terms — we will post the new version here with an updated date and, for material changes, email account holders in advance.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, for losses arising from purchases made on third-party marketplaces, or for the accuracy of third-party listings. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Ending your account
You can stop using ShelfKeepr and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may close accounts that breach these terms or that have been inactive for a long period, after emailing you first where practical.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
